9 Steps to Build Your Own Projector Hush Box

To build a projector hush box, you will need the following tools:


Ever wanted to build your projector hush box? Here is a quick guide on how to build your own.

Step 1: Decide where you want the projector screen to be in your room and mark out the area.

Step 2: Measure the width, height, and depth of the speaker that you want to fit into the hush box. You will need to measure and cut the wood pieces that will make up the outside frame. The measurements are dependent on the size of your projector and how big you want the hush box to be with your projector.

Step 3: Determine how big you want your hush box to be by adding 5-10 inches extra on all sides of your speaker measurements. This is necessary because it makes it easier to cut the pieces that will make up your projector hush box.

Step 4: Cut all of the boards that you need for the side walls, top, bottom, and shelves out of 3/4-inch plywood. Use wood glue and nails or screws on each board joint. Cut holes in the box for your speakers and any cords you might need. For instance, in the top and bottom of the box, and run wires through the hole on both ends.

Step 5: Next, assemble the inner frame for your hush box. This frame will provide support for your padding material, which is necessary to keep sound from bothering those around you.
